There’s something incredibly special about a rural wedding. As a wedding photographer based in regional Queensland, I’ve been lucky enough to travel far and wide. I’ve captured love stories in some of the most beautiful and remote parts of the state. From the riverbanks of the Thomson outside Longreach to the grazing land around Roma, the charm and authenticity of country weddings keep calling me back.
I grew up on a cattle property—and it’s still home today. Because of that, I understand the heart behind a country wedding. It’s more than just a beautiful day. It’s about family, legacy, and love rooted in the land. Country people are my people, and there’s a real sense of familiarity every time I photograph a wedding in these communities.
Over the years, I’ve photographed weddings on private stations as far west as Jundah. I’ve captured celebrations in the hills around Springsure, and in shearing sheds outside Clermont that were transformed into magical reception venues. Each location brings its own character. No two country weddings are ever the same.
One of the things I love most is how rural couples incorporate their lives, families, and landscapes into their day. These aren’t just weddings—they’re celebrations of place and people. Whether it’s a ceremony under a giant gum tree, a reception in a machinery shed, or golden hour portraits in the paddock, there’s always a deep sense of home.
Country weddings feel more relaxed and grounded. There’s a lot of laughter, plenty of boots and beer, and a strong feeling that everyone is there to celebrate something real. I love seeing families come together—generations gathered in one place, kids running wild, and proud grandparents beaming with joy. It’s these genuine moments that I’m most drawn to.
Natural light, wide skies, and rustic textures make the outback a dream to shoot in. But it’s the people who make it unforgettable. The warmth, creativity, and laid-back nature of my rural clients inspire me every time. They have a knack for turning the simplest spaces into something magical—twinkling fairy lights in a hay shed, handmade signs, or arrangements made with flowers and even crops like wheat, sorghum, or cotton, picked straight from the paddock.
If you’re planning a wedding in Central or Western Queensland—on a family property, in a small town, or miles from anywhere—I’d love to be part of it. I’m always up for an adventure and happy to travel to even the most remote spots. Let’s capture your love story in a way that feels true to who you are.
If you’re dreaming of a country celebration surrounded by the people and places you love most, I’d be honoured to capture it. I’m based in regional Queensland and happy to travel far and wide.
