One of the things I value most about my family photography work is being able to photograph clients across multiple milestones. From maternity sessions through to welcoming a new baby, it’s always a privilege to document these stages as they naturally unfold.

I photographed Gemma’s maternity session not long ago, so it was lovely to see her and Mark again — this time with their new baby boy. He was incredibly happy and content throughout the session, which made for a relaxed and easy shoot.

We photographed this family session at my rural property, surrounded by native scrub. The afternoon light filtering through the trees was beautiful and soft, giving us ideal conditions for natural, understated family portraits. We captured a mix of images of the three of them together, along with some super cute moments focusing on their new baby.

Gemma and Mark are from Blackwater, just a short drive from my home, and I regularly photograph families from Blackwater, Emerald, and across Central Queensland. Working locally allows sessions to feel calm and unhurried, particularly for families with young babies.
