A couple of weeks ago, I headed west for a beautiful wedding in Ilfracombe. I always love photographing weddings out that way—the people are warm and welcoming, and the wide-open skies make for some stunning backdrops.
Erica and Doug chose a very special venue for their big day: the Wellshot Hotel, where they had their very first date. What a perfect (and unique!) place to say “I do.” It’s not every day you get to shoot a wedding at a country pub with so much character.
The day began in Barcaldine, where I joined the girls at Meraki Hair and Beauty for hair and makeup. After capturing some lovely moments there, I headed back to Ilfracombe to the boys for a few quick getting-ready shots before making our way to the ceremony.
Both the ceremony and reception were held at the Wellshot, and the beer garden made such a great setting for the festivities. We took a short stroll down the street to the gardens for family photos, then found a few beautiful spots nearby for portraits. As the sun started to dip, we jumped in the car for a quick drive out of town to chase that gorgeous golden light.
And yes—we even made a final stop at the dump! Doug’s favourite spot for treasure hunting, and honestly, it made for some super cute and quirky photos….and why not!!
Congratulations, Doug and Erica! Wishing you both a lifetime of love and laughter. Thank you for being so relaxed, fun, and up for anything—it was such a joy to be part of your day!
